Lecture 1 - Foundations of UK Administrative Law: The Common Law Method, Values and Constestation

19 November

Date - Wednesday 19th November 2014

Venue- The Gulbenkian Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, University of Oxford

Time - 6pm

The lecture considers the evolution of UK Administrative law, setting this against a more general model of how the common law evolves. The principal themes of the emergent case law are exam-ined against the backdrop of the changing administrative system. The focus then shifts to the rela-tionship between theory, values and fact in Administrative law, and the respective role played by the common law and legislative intent in the development of this body of law.
