Social Sciences subjects have been ranked in the top 100, while Business and Economics is placed in the top 150

Social Sciences placed amongst top 100 in THE global rankings

Business and Economics also rank in the global top 150.

The University of Exeter has been named as one of the top 100 places in the world to study a range of Social Sciences subjects, according to the latest influential rankings.

Education, Law and Social Sciences have all been recognised as being amongst the global top 100, in the latest 2018 Times Higher Education subject rankings, published today.

Education is the highest ranked at 77, with Social Sciences 83rd and Law 93rd. Business and Economics also ranked highly in the tables, positioned in the 126-150 category group.

Professor Debra Myhill, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean for the College of Social Sciences said: “We are delighted with these results which signal the strength of Social Sciences at Exeter. We pride ourselves on offering high-quality teaching and we’re actively involved in research projects which make a difference to how we live our lives.

“Our School of Education is recognised as sector-leading for its initial teacher education and for research, while Law offers a thriving community of students who secure employment both within the legal profession and in wider fields.”

Social Sciences subjects are taught at the University’s campuses in Exeter and Penryn in Cornwall. Interdisciplinary collaboration is a hallmark of the College, reflected both in research and its varied curriculum which offers flexibility and choice. Areas of interdisciplinary excellence include Middle East Politics and European Law.
