The Annual Lasok Lecture is taking place at 5.30pm on Wednesday, 18 March in room Laver LT6.
The lecture will be given by Chris Docksey, Hon. Director General of the European Data Protection Supervisor, a member of the Guernsey Data Protection Authority, and a Visiting Fellow and member of the Advisory Board of the European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC) at Maastricht University.
The lecture will compare the development of technology with the adoption of international and national legislation in the area of data protection, followed by a discussion of current issues in the case law (territorial scope, personal data, consent/bundling) and the consequences of Brexit.
After the lecture there will be a chance to ask questions and a short drink reception.
