The Centre provides advanced specialist training in the areas of EU politics, constitutional politics, regulatory governance, public opinion, and the political economy of European integration through MA programmes coordinated through the Department of Politics and the European stream of the MPA programme.

Taught programmes: MA European Politics

The MA in European Politics addresses key issues in European governance including EU policy-making, federalism, democratisation / constitutionalism, and European identity. This programme will provide you with detailed knowledge and advanced critical understanding of the political process of European Union integration, its origins, dynamics and prospects within a rigorous theoretical and empirical framework. This programme is not available in 2021.

MPhil and PhD degrees

The Centre has facilities for the supervision of MPhil and PhD Degrees by thesis, and applications from suitably qualified students are welcome. The required periods of full-time registration for each degree are three terms (one academic year) in the case of the MPhil and nine terms (three academic years) for a PhD. Candidates who do not already have a Master's degree are normally registered for an MPhil in the first instance and may be transferred to a PhD subject to satisfactory progress.
