Dr Simon Pender

Simon Pender is a Deputy Director in the Cabinet Office with responsibility for teams producing strategic assessments on a range of policy issues. Since joining the Civil Service in 2008, Simon has worked in roles covering home affairs, defence and foreign policy, also serving as a Private Secretary across the 2010 General Election.

Prior to joining Government, Simon completed a PhD in medieval European literature at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He was appointed as a Junior Research Fellow and Director of Studies at Homerton College, Cambridge, from 2005-2008. He completed the MStrat in 2017, shortly before securing promotion to the Senior Civil Service.
