Integrated Water Resources Management

Integrated Water Resources Management as an approach for Climate Change Adaptation:  comparative lesson drawing

Funded by the Leverhulme Trust, and led by Dr David Benson (ESI) and Dr Animesh Gain (Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy).

Countries such as Bangladesh face fundamental threats from climate change and there is significant demand for knowledge of comparative national practice to enhance institutional capacity and programme effectiveness.

Drawing on perspectives on Integrated Water Resources Management from different disciplines such as political science, human geography, hydrology, economics and engineering, this research will compare adaptive capacity with several other countries including Italy, the UK, Canada, India and Germany.

Who we are

An international network of leading scholars to facilitate ‘lesson drawing’ on innovative Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) for implementation of adaptation initiatives in Bangladesh.
