Welcome to all new postgraduate students arriving in Autumn 2016

For those of you undertaking postgraduate programmes in the Department of Sociology, Philosophy and Anthropology during 2016-17, let me introduce myself and welcome you to the University of Exeter. Whether you are continuing your studies directly from an undergraduate degree, or returning to university study, the members of staff here are committed to ensuring you make the most of your time.

Our postgraduate degrees are taught by some of the leading academics in their fields. As Head of the Department, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Dr Adam Toon, as Director of the Postgraduate Taught programme, can also address any issues for PGT students, and Dr Susan Kelly is happy to help Postgraduate Research students. I look forward to meeting you in September.

Professor David Inglis
Head of Sociology, Philosophy and Anthropology

Please note

The guidelines listed in the left-hand menu (under 'New postgraduates') are written for Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students. PGT students are those studying for an MA (other than the MA by Research), or an MRes.

If you are studying for an MA by Research, an MPhil, or a PhD then you are a Postgraduate Research (PGR) student; if this applies to you, please see the Graduate Research School website for your induction information.
