Physical Education (PE) at Exeter is widely recognised as a leading PE course nationally. The course is constantly evolving and changing to take account of the latest research both in PE and the wider educational landscape.
The course places considerable importance on collaborative learning and teaching both during university taught sessions and in our partnership schools in order to develop high levels of professional independence, autonomy and initiative. The course includes research-informed, evidence-based lectures and practical/workshop sessions (together with directed study tasks) to prepare you to meet the needs of young people in the 21st Century and of the modern day PE teacher. To take this module, you will normally need to possess an upper second class or first class Honours degree in a subject appropriate for teaching PE in secondary schools.
