ARA1034: Elementary Indonesian 1

This module descriptor refers to the 2016/7 academic year.

Module Aims

This module aims to:

develop basic communicative skills in Indonesian at the introductory level; and
enable you to understand Indonesian cultures and societies.

On successfully completing the programme you will be able to:
Module-Specific Skills1. communicate competently in basic Indonesian in daily life;
2. understand the function of some basic structures of the Indonesian language;
3. write some basic Indonesian sentences using proper grammar;
Discipline-Specific Skills4. identify basic linguistic structures and apply them into simple conversation and writing;
5. demonstrate knowledge of some aspects of the cultures and societies that use the Indonesian language;
Personal and Key Skills6. demonstrate confidence in speaking, listening and writing in a foreign language;
