Module Content

Syllabus Plan

Whilst the module’s precise content may vary from year to year, it is envisaged that the syllabus will cover some or all of the following topics:

  1. The Institutions of the EU, sources of EU law, law-making procedures, competence and subsidiarity.

  2. Enforcement before national courts – the principles of direct effect and supremacy, the preliminary reference procedure, national remedies and state liability.

  3. General Introduction to the Single Market: Free movement of goods and free movement of persons, including citizenship.

  4. Fundamental rights protection.
