Syllabus Plan

  • Philosophical controversies surrounding the self
  • The brain and the self
  • The embodied self
  • Developmental and experiential approaches to the self
  • Intersubjectivity and the social self
  • The disrupted self: pathological perspectives
  • The disappearing self: skeptical and meditation-based approaches
