Module Aims

This aim of this module is to familiarise you with William James’s “Pragmatism”, one of the most important philosophical texts of the twentieth century, and to introduce you to the philosophy of pragmatism in general. Through careful and detailed study of this text, supplemented by secondary sources, and in depth class discussions, you will enhance your familiarity with the fundamental techniques required to read, understand and critically engage with a philosophical text.
