POC1019: Green Politics in Theory and Practice

Module Aims
This module provides a clear and inspiring introduction to the nature, causes and potential solutions to environmental problems in Britain and Europe. Reviewing current debates on the relationship between environment and politics, you will be familiarised with key actors, policy tools, and major environmental discourses. The module will enable you to reflect critically and creatively on efforts to change political institutions such that more environmentally friendly practices and policies can be ensured on a sustained basis. In so doing it develops your reading and analytical skills as well as verbal and written skills.
