POL3199: Images of Democracy

Module Aims

This module aims to provide you with an advanced understanding of theories of radical democracy. It aims to familiarize you with some ancient Greek texts that remain important reference points for contemporary democratic theory. It aims to compare and contrast the work of Hannah Arendt and Jacques Rancière and to consider the implications of their thought for understanding contemporary politics.
