1. Introduction to the concept of human dignity - Identifications of legal fields and key issues - Contextual location in time and places - Academic responses to the increasing uses of dignity in law
2. Discussion of key examples of legal uses of dignity (indicative list only) - Introduction: identification of issues and apparent paradoxes - Selected issues:
Human dignity and equality - Human dignity and autonomy - Dignity and life - Dignity and welfare - Dignity and integrity - Dignity and work - Dignity and time
3. Critical assessment of uses of dignity as a legal concept - Awareness of scholarly motives, background and wider agenda - Implication of methodological choices on scholarly analysis - Proposing a definition of human dignity: method and substance
