This module descriptor refers to the 2017/8 academic year.
Module Aims
This module aims to provide you with an understanding of some aspects of the legal structures and the regulation of immigration control, nationality law and asylum in the UK. The module will place legal controls in their historical, social, and political context. It, will require you to demonstrate in-depth understanding of some key legal principles and enable you to analyse them within an inter-relating multi-level structure of governance and to consider how these principle reflect the inter-relationship of law and social and political pressures.

Demonstrate detailed knowledge of aspects of the main sources, history and current framework of immigration, nationality and asylum law in the UK and of a range of major concepts, values and principles relevant to its application; 2.
