LAW2701: Law Placement
This module descriptor refers to the 2021/2 academic year.
Module Aims
This 2nd year module forms part of the LLB with Professional Placement pathway. This non-credit bearing module aims to help students on this programme to prepare for the placement year that will take place in the third year of their degree. The module aims to assist students in their job/placement search and to provide a general preparation for successful participation in the workforce.
The combination of workshops, lectures and e-learning units focus on securing a placement, work-readiness and professionalism.
On successfully completing the programme you will be able to: | |

Module-Specific Skills | 1. understand the impact of behaviour, ethics and health and safety in the workplace; 2. understand the importance of continuing personal and professional development in the workplace; 3. understand the academic requirements that they are expected to fulfil during the placement year. |
Discipline-Specific Skills | 4. locate information sources that will help them identify: a) The skills - discipline specific and transferable - that they should acquire by completing their degree b) Career options where a degree in their subject area is essential (where relevant), career options where a degree in their subject area is desirable, career options where a degree in their subject area would be useful. |
Personal and Key Skills | 5. locate information sources that will help them to identify, critically reflect on and provide examples from their own experiences to demonstrate the personal and key skills that they have developed and that graduate employers value most highly. |
