POLM881DA: Work Based Project

This module descriptor refers to the 2021/2 academic year.

Module Aims

Module three will help apprentices put into practice skills (S1, S2, S3, S4, S6, S9, S10) and knowledge’s (K1, K2, K3) gained through modules 1 and 2, and to evidence core behavioural change (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8, B9) towards the IATE Systems Thinking Practitioner standard. Evidence of the development trajectories towards the standard will be captured in apprentices e-portfolio

On successfully completing the programme you will be able to:
Module-Specific Skills	1. Evidence a sound working knowledge of soft systems methodology or the VSM 2. Evidence a sound working knowledge of critical systems heuristics
Discipline-Specific Skills	3. Demonstrate abilities for applying systems thinking in practice and in cross-organisational settings 4. Evidence the application of systems theory at appropriate settings, scales, and temporalities within their home organisation 5. Evaluate the value and import of soft systems approaches in addressing extant organisational challenges and in so doing develop leadership skills and behaviours
Personal and Key Skills	6. Evaluate personal learning trajectories through reflective practice 7. Evidence cross disciplinary/organisational complex governance problem solving.

Formative Assessment

A formative assessment is designed to give you feedback on your understanding of the module content but it will not count towards your mark for the module.

Re-assessment

Re-assessment takes place when the summative assessment has not been completed by the original deadline, and the student has been allowed to refer or defer it to a later date (this only happens following certain criteria and is always subject to exam board approval). For obvious reasons, re-assessments cannot be the same as the original assessment and so these alternatives are set. In cases where the form of assessment is the same, the content will nevertheless be different.
