- Migration and the city

- Asylum seekers, the city and the state

- Policing the city

- Urban uprising, riots

- Gang cultures

- Cultural creativity and the city: Music (for example, Reggae, Rap, Hip Hop, New Asian Dance Music)

- Outside the city: race and the country
