Dr Khalid Almezaini is a Research Fellow on a research grant from the Emirates Foundation to work on the question of identity and regime survival in the Gulf countries with particular reference to the UAE. He is co-editor of the e-journal International Journal for Arab Studies, www.ijasjournal.com. His research interests range from International Relations and Middle East politics to foreign aid and foreign policies of the Arab states, with a particular focus on the politics and economics of the Gulf states, the Gulf-Palestine relationship and the question of regime survival and legitimacy in Arab monarchies.
