Lecturer (Sociology and Q Step)

My research interests lie at the intersection of sociology and demography. I am particularly interested in the ways in which reproductive behaviour of individuals is influenced by incentives and constraints at the social level. In addition, I have been studying the role of religion and ethnic identity in shaping family and employment patterns in Europe. My recent work focuses on educational differences in the partnership context at birth in the UK and the social and demographic consequences of assisted reproductive technologies. My other research interests include gender equality, work-family balance, life course analysis and population projections.
