Alumni volunteering supports careers and the curriculum

Alumni volunteering remains a hugely important contribution to the Law School, impacting on all areas of Law School life. This year alumni involvement has enhanced careers and curriculum activity, affording students the chance to get many real-life insights in to different aspects of careers in the law. Twenty former law students have been involved in supporting these activities ranging across mock interviews, panel discussions and providing written and video profiles. A new development was introduced this academic year by Dr Luke Price, who integrated Problem Solving workshops in to the Legal Foundation course. These workshops were entirely alumni-led.

“The problem-solving workshops had a great impact on students’ learning this year. Not only did we hear really positive responses from students, we also saw them integrating their experiences into the work they did in the rest of the course and engaging with their future careers in law. Tremendous thanks to all the brilliant speakers who brought such diversity and enthusiasm to these sessions.”
