Alex Deane
Students learn about the growing integration of social media in political working life.
Alex Deane, Head of Public Affairs at Weber Shandwick, visited the University of Exeter on Friday 21 October to deliver a talk on Public Affairs and Public Policy: How the New Media is driving the New Politics of the 21st Century.
Alex described his own career path from Barrister to Public Relations expert and gave an insight in to the do’s and don’ts / what’s hot and what’s not in terms of utilising social media in the day-to-day work of a lobbyist.
The event was followed by a drinks reception, sponsored by Weber Shandwick at which students were able to speak directly to Alex about careers in Public Affairs. Current students can listen again via the link on My Brilliant Career.
